AEROSPACE EDUCATION TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP
A $600 SCHOLARSHIP OFFERED BY THE MISSOURI PILOTS ASSOCIATION
FOR THE SUMMER OF 2013
Since 1996 the Missouri Pilots Association has been awarding an Aerospace Education Scholarship to a deserving teacher from first through 12th grade. The amount of the Norman Lawnick Scholarship is $600 with some additional funds available for housing and incidental expenses.
While not originally limited to one college or university, in practice the University of Central Missouri offers the most appropriate curriculum primarily because of the university’s extensive aviation course of study. This session will be taught by Dr. John Horine from June 17 to June 28, 2013. Upon completion, the student will have earned 2 credit hours toward an advanced degree.
During the 2 weeks in Warrensburg, students will learn about the economic, social, political and technical aspects of aviation. This information can then be incorporated into their lesson plans to be shared with their students.
Application for the scholarship may be made by email to the MoPilots Education Committee Chairman Joe Berman at firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition, he may be contacted by phone at 417-779-2144 or 417-739-4392.
Applicants should provide brief information about themselves, their school assignment and how they would incorporate this new-found knowledge into their classrooms. For more information about the course itself, you may call Dr. Horine at 660-543-4457 or check on-line at www.mopilots.org.
