Come celebrate 100 years of aviation history at the 2003 Cape Girardeau Regional Air Festival, July 12 (Rain Date July 13th). There will be many attractions and fun exhibits to see - not to mention a five hour AirShow! Call Carol Weber at 636-458-2529 if you plan to go. She will provide you with information regarding where the airport will have us park (they are still working on Fly-In parking as we go to press). The last two times we flew in it was in a new location each time. As of now plan to arrive at CGI around 1100 and stay until 1700 or 1800 but please check-in with Carol prior to July 12th.
The July meeting of the Greater St Louis Flight Instructors Association will be held at 7pm Monday, July 14th at Skyline Aeronautics. There will be a panel of 4 to 6 Designated Pilot Examiners from the St. Louis area. It will start as an introduction of each DPE and comments from them on check ride applicants and any weaknesses observed. Then there will be an open Q & A period. It is important that our Instructors ask questions so the DPE's can standardize tasks instead of differences in DPE's. This is a chance for you to get to know the DPE's and can be of great help in your student's checkride preparation.
