Wednesday, July 6th

We'll be at the Greenbriar Country Club, 12665 Big Bend Boulevard. Social hour starts at 1800; Dinner ($18) at 1900 and Fred Harms will have a short presentation at 2000 before handing out the Wings Certificates. Reminder to new members: dress code is casual but jeans are not permitted.

As always, Fred will give us updates and insights into General Aviation and FAA news as well as answering any questions you may have.

Thanks to all who attended last month's 40th Anniversary Meeting. It was great to see 17 past presidents of our chapter and to hear how they got involved in aviation and the Missouri Pilots Association.

Bonita Duke is back in town after having to spend some time with her mother. Bonita had planned to show a 15 minute video/slide show covering 40 years of our chapter's history before her unplanned trip down south. Her video will be shown at our July 6th meeting! Based on a preview you will not want to miss it.

You will also be able to pick up our chapter's membership directory at the meeting. A free copy will be available for any member attending the meeting. We will also be making them available via mail but will be requiring a contribution to cover the cost of printing and mailing. Details in next month's newsletter.

Limited seating so Reservations are absolutely required. Please email to RSVP@MoPilots.US or call Mark Weber at 636-458-2529 by Monday, July 4th.

(Have a present you don't know what to do with it? Bring it to the Meeting
and donate it to our 50/50. You'll get 3 free tickets for each item donated.)

July 9th Fly-Out

Come celebrate aviation history at the 2005 Cape Girardeau Regional Air Festival, July 9 (Rain Date July 10th). There will be many attractions and fun exhibits to see - not to mention a five hour AirShow! Call Sue Smith at 636-274-3663 if you plan to go. She will provide you with information regarding where the airport will have us park (they are still working on Fly-In parking as we go to press). Last year we had to walk around to the main gate and pay the admission fee which is $10 this year. The last two times we flew in it was in a new location each time. As of now plan to arrive at CGI before 1100 when the AirShow begins and stay until it ends at 1600. Please check-in with Sue prior to July 9th.

Rescheduled for July 3rd!

The IPA is having their Annual Poker Run to benefit Wings of Hope in St. Louis. The run is on July 3rd. There are seven airports to pick from and you can go to all seven if you wish to have an even better chance to win! Each person in the airplane can play by getting one card from the specially marked balloon bag at each location:

Perryville (K02), Spirit (SUS) Main Jetcorp terminal, Sparta (SAR), Pinckneyville (PJY), St. Clair (K39), Dutchman (Ben Emge, 2IL7) finishing up at Sackman (H49).
Go to at least any 5 airports, and remember every person in the plane can play, even the dog! $1.00 an envelope and please don't open it until you turn them in at Sackman. Try to get started about 9:00 am, and be at Sackman by 12:30. Lunch starts at 11:30 and runs till everyone has arrived. Have a lot of fun and make a great donation to a really good aviation group, Wings of Hope. $100.00 and $20.00 prizes, at least 8 of them!!
If you have any questions, call Doug Clements, 636-537-1302.
