Ponca City Regional Airport (KPNC) – Ponca City OK

The supervisor Charles Gilbert (charles.b.gilbert@faa.gov) has approved the scheduling of the following seminar:

“Stalls”
Topic: Stall Characteristics
On Monday June 22, 2026 at 15:30 Central Daylight Time
Select Number: SW15145027
Location: Ponca City Airport, 2231 Waverly St, Clubhouse, Ponca City, OK 74601

Description:

Stalls are frequently misunderstood.  It is possible to stall the wing at any airspeed, any attitude, and any power setting.  We learn and practice stalls at a low airspeed.  But a stall does not depend on airspeed, it is the result — only — of exceeding the critical angle of attack. This seminar has been scheduled and airmen have been notified.

Ponca City Regional Airport (KPNC) – Ponca City OK

The supervisor Charles Gilbert (charles.b.gilbert@faa.gov) has approved the scheduling of the following seminar:

“Personal Minimums”
Topic: Personal Minimums, What They Are and How To Use Them.
On Tuesday June 23, 2026 at 15:30 Central Daylight Time
Select Number: SW15145028
Location: Ponca City Airport, 2231 Waverly St, Clubhouse, Ponca City, OK 74601

Description:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that pilots want to fly.  And sometimes they make bad choices in order to do so. Airline pilots defer to a dispassionate dispatcher who can cancel the flight without emotional distress. GA pilots are their own dispatchers and must sometimes make hard choices.  Using a Personal Minimums document is a step toward rational decision making.

This seminar has been scheduled and airmen have been notified.
