The Oklahoma Antique Airplane Association has a monthly meeting/Fly-In at or club house on the northwest corner of the PVJ field, once a month on the first Saturday. Come join in on the fun! You don’t have to fly an antique in, we have cars, motorcycles, and every kind of airplane old and new. We eat about 11:30 to 12:00 and have burgers hot dogs and in the winter chili and Cajun food. Program will be the about Aviators Direct – a new aviation insurance company for older pilots. Most aviation insurance companies are either cancelling us older pilots or pricing their products so high that coverage is unaffordable. The Aviators Direct company plans to provide an alternative because they know we didn’t get old by doing stupid things in an airplane.. The UFO organization is open to pilots aged 80 and above. https://www.ufopilots.org There is a UFO Auxiliary wing that is open to younger pilots aged 75 – 80. https://www.ufopilots.org/auxiliarywing We encourage everyone in, or close to, those age groups to attend this meeting.

The end-of-month fly-in breakfast will be held at Parsons Tri-City Airport (KPPF; CTAF 123.0) this coming Saturday, September 30, from around 8:00 AM until around 10:00 AM.  Always a good time, rain or shine.  Hope to see you there!

 

Saturday, September 30 –  car show on the terminal ramp at Boone County Airport (KHRO) from 10 – 3 this Saturday multiple food trucks, various vendors, kid activities, including bounce houses plus entertainment.  This is a Crusin’ for Vets benefit show with more than 200 vehicles expected. This event was held downtown last year and there wasn’t enough room for everyone so it was moved to the airport terminal ramp. Come out and see some fine show vehicles and help support our veterans. Most aviation insurance companies are either cancelling us older pilots or pricing their products so high that coverage is unaffordable. The Aviators Direct company plans to provide an alternative because they know we didn’t get old by doing stupid things in an airplane.. Fairmont Field Fly-In Sept 24

Sept 24 – EAA 455 Fly-in Fairmont Field (1OK) Field opens at 2; eat at 5

EAA 455 will meet at Fairmont Field for a Fly-in and meal on September 24.

The hangar opens at 2 p.m. and the meal will start at 5 p.m.

Meats, plates & utensils, and drinks will be provided. Bring a side or a dessert to complete the buffet of food.

Fairmont Fly-in Possible Rain???

Fairmont Fly-in is scheduled for September 24. Fairmont Field 1OK is a public use field and the CTAF is 122.9. Left traffic all runways. Winds are predicted to be from the north. There is a windsock near the south end of the field and one at the hangar for reference. KWDG

AWOS (if it is working) is 123.725. Various weather sources are predicting a wide range of possible rain from little to more than enough to make the runway soft for the days leading up to that date.

If there is any question about the condition of the grass field, please call Ken at 580-541-1268 or Dee Ann at 580-548-6161 to make sure the field is usable.

Also you should be aware that there is a milo crop on the field surrounding the runway and taxiway. The milo is four feet tall with occasional stalks as tall as six feet, so use caution at the approach ends as well as during turn-arounds for low wing aircraft.

You don’t have to fly an antique in, we have cars, motorcycles, and every kind of airplane old and new. We eat about 11:30 to 12:00 and have burgers hot dogs and in the winter chili and Cajun food. October 14 – Golden, MO – Table Rock Airport (MO32) United Flying Octogenarians (UFO) area meeting at Depot Diner. Lunch meeting in the theater adjacent to the Diner. Program will be the about Aviators Direct – a new aviation insurance company for older pilots. Most aviation insurance companies are either cancelling us older pilots or pricing their products so high that coverage is unaffordable. The Aviators Direct company plans to provide an alternative because they know we didn’t get old by doing stupid things in an airplane..
